Want Rhoback-level apparel with your logo?
Rhone and Vuori cover the same polos, quarter-zips and hoodies, and we can put your logo on either one.
Rhoback does run a custom program. Its Custom and Group Orders page offers embroidery on a limited set of styles at a 12-unit minimum, with a dedicated specialist and a mockup before anything runs. So the short answer to whether you can get custom Rhoback is yes. The longer answer is the one that matters if you work with an agency or a promo company, because Rhoback will not take your order through one.
Under a heading marked NOT ELIGIBLE, Rhoback states that it does not accept orders from promotional, marketing, or ASI product distributors. Merchwell is exactly that, and so is every other agency you might ask. There is no workaround, no preferred-supplier route, and no version of this where a distributor quotes you Rhoback. You go direct or you order a different brand.
We would rather tell you that plainly than waste a week of your timeline pretending otherwise. Below is how the direct program works, who it suits, and the pieces we carry that cover the same ground when going direct does not fit how your company buys.
Does Rhoback do custom orders?
Yes, through its own custom orders team. The terms, as published on Rhoback's site:
Twelve units minimum. Low for a premium brand, and the most appealing part of the program. The quantity bands on the application run 12 to 25, 26 to 40, and upward from there, so a department of fifteen is a real customer rather than a rounding error.
Embroidery on a selected range, not the full line. Rhoback says the custom collection is updated regularly to keep production reliable, which in practice means the style you saw on the site may not be one of the styles you can brand.
Left sleeve, right sleeve, or right chest. Those are the three placements on the application form. Multiple locations carry an additional fee. Note what is missing: left chest is not an option, because that is where Rhoback's own dog sits.
A separate account, and a separate email. You apply for a custom orders account, then shop a private collection through a custom log-in. Rhoback warns that the form will not submit if you use an email address that has placed retail orders on rhoback.com, so use a work address nobody has shopped with.
Retail promotions do not apply. Custom orders are produced separately from the main e-commerce line, and sitewide discount codes are excluded. Budget off full retail, which runs roughly $98 to $105 for a men's polo and $126 to $145 for a Q-Zip.
Can you get custom Rhoback through a promotional distributor?
No. This is the part worth reading twice if a vendor has told you otherwise.
Rhoback excludes promotional, marketing, and ASI distributors from the custom program by name, and routes wholesale inquiries to a separate application that is not the same thing as branded orders. If a promo company quotes you Rhoback, one of three things is happening. They are planning to buy at retail and decorate it themselves, which voids any brand approval and usually the warranty. They are substituting a lookalike and calling it Rhoback. Or they have not read the page.
None of this is unusual. Premium brands set the terms for co-branding and they change them when it suits the brand rather than the channel. Patagonia stopped direct embroidery entirely in 2021 and reinstated it in 2023 on two placements only, distributed through a single supplier on a limited basis, as Print & Promo Marketing reported at the time. Rhoback has drawn its line in a different place. The useful question is not how to get around it, but which brand gives you the same product with a route you can actually use.
Who Rhoback's custom program is right for
Going direct genuinely is the better choice for some orders, and we will say so.
Order direct if the brand itself is the point. Golf-adjacent companies, member clubs, and teams in Virginia and the Southeast where Rhoback carries real recognition. If the recipient needs to see that specific logo on the chest, no substitute does the job and you should apply.
Go direct for one small run with no deadline. Twelve pieces for a leadership offsite, no size collection problem, no reorder expected, nobody waiting on an invoice through procurement. The program handles that well and a specialist follows up within one to two business days.
Do not order direct if the order has to behave like a program. Multiple brands on one invoice, consolidated shipping, held inventory for new hires, per-recipient size and address collection through something like Claim Pages, a single vendor your finance team has already onboarded. A brand's own custom desk is not built for any of that, and running one brand outside your program is how a merch budget stops being trackable.
The best custom Rhoback alternatives: Rhone and Vuori
Rhoback sells performance polos, quarter-zips, hoodies, and tees to people who want to look put together without wearing a dress shirt. Two brands we carry occupy that exact space. Custom Rhone runs 65 styles from $48 at a six-piece minimum, embroidered or screen printed, with left chest available because Rhone does not reserve it. Custom Vuori starts at $69 and carries more brand recognition nationally. Each card below shows live pricing at your quantity.
Instead of a Rhoback polo
Rhone Men's Commuter Polo, from $103, with the Women's Course To Court Polo at $86. The closest match on the board. Rhoback's polos run $98 to $105 at retail, so the Commuter lands at the same number with a route you can use and a left-chest placement you cannot get from Rhoback. If the budget is the binding constraint, the Vuori Men's Strato Tech Polo at $64 is a third less and the best-selling polo we carry.
Instead of a Rhoback Q-Zip
Rhone Men's Dreamstate Quarter-Zip, from $112, paired with the Women's Course To Court Quarter-Zip at $103. This is where the swap gets easy to justify. A Rhoback Q-Zip is $126 to $145 at full retail with no promotions, so the Dreamstate comes in under it with decoration and setup included. The Vuori Men's Sunday Element Half-Zip at $119 sits between the two and carries the stronger logo on the hanger.
Instead of a Rhoback hoodie or crewneck
Rhone Men's Dreamstate Hoodie, from $120, the Vuori Men's Ponto Pullover Hoodie at $110, and the Vuori Women's Halo Modern Crew at $91. Hoodies are the piece people actually keep, which is why we push them hard on gift orders. The Ponto is the highest-wear item in our catalog and the Halo Crew is the safest body for a team with a wide size range. Our guide to custom Vuori hoodies compares the men's and women's fits side by side.
Instead of a Rhoback tee
Rhone Men's Origin Slim Fit T-Shirt, from $48, with the Women's Serene T-Shirt at $64. The entry point into the Rhone range and the piece that makes a mixed order work, because a tee at $48 offsets a quarter-zip at $112 inside the same budget. Screen print is available on Rhone, which matters for a larger front graphic that embroidery could not carry. For an event or trade show run this is where we would start.
Instead of Rhoback outerwear
Rhone Men's Fleece Vest, from $112, or the Vuori Men's Echo Insulated Vest 3.0 and Women's Canyon Insulated Sporty Vest, both $166. Vests are the one category where paying more is easy to defend. ASI's 2026 Ad Impressions Study puts outerwear at roughly 9,000 impressions over its lifespan, which keeps the cost per impression under half a cent even on a $166 piece. A vest also layers over whatever someone already owns, so the sizing problem mostly disappears.

Rhoback direct vs. ordering Rhone or Vuori
The honest comparison, on the four things that decide most apparel orders.
Minimum. Rhone wins at six pieces per style and color. Rhoback asks for twelve. Vuori asks for twenty-four, which is the one place Vuori is the worst of the three and worth knowing before you fall for the brand.
Logo placement. Rhone gives you left chest, back, or either sleeve, and screen print as well as embroidery. Rhoback restricts you to the sleeves or the right chest because its own mark holds the left. For a company that wants its logo where a logo normally goes, that alone settles it.
Timeline. Rhone runs about three weeks and Vuori about thirty days, both measured from mockup approval. Rhoback does not publish a production window, which is the detail we would want pinned down in writing before planning an event around it.
What happens after delivery. This is the gap nobody prices in. Through us the same order can ship to one office or to individual doorsteps, and leftover stock can sit in storage and go out to new hires over the following year. A direct brand order arrives in boxes at whoever signed for it, and the reorder starts from scratch.
How to order Rhone or Vuori with your logo
1. Pick the pieces. Tell us the occasion and the budget per head and we will come back with a mix, or build it yourself in Pack Builder. Six pieces per style and color on Rhone means a 24-piece order can cover four different roles.
2. Send your logo and pick a placement. Vector files work best. We will tell you whether the mark holds up in thread at the size you want or needs a simplified version, and whether screen print is the better call.
3. Approve the mockup. You sign off on placement, thread colors, and final per-piece pricing before production starts. Pricing and a mockup come back within one business day.
4. Delivery, or Claim Pages. Ship the run to one address, or send Claim Pages so every recipient picks their own size and enters their own address. On apparel that one choice is the difference between a program that ships and a spreadsheet nobody fills in.
Custom Rhoback FAQ
Can I buy Rhoback at retail and have it embroidered myself?
Physically yes, sensibly no. Decorating retail product outside a brand's program means no co-branding approval, no recourse if a garment is damaged in the hoop, and you pay full retail per piece with no volume break. On a $105 polo a single ruined run wipes out whatever you thought you were saving. If you want Rhoback, apply to its program.
Is there a Rhoback collection without the dog logo?
Yes. Rhoback's Club Collection is described on its own site as carrying minimal branding without the signature dog embroidery on the left chest. That is the range a corporate buyer would want, since it frees up the placement most companies ask for. Whether a given Club style is in the custom collection at any moment is a question for their specialist, because the custom selection rotates.
Rhone or Vuori, if I liked Rhoback?
Rhone, on product. It is the closer match in fabric, fit, and the golf-to-office range Rhoback built its line around, and the six-piece minimum beats both of the others. Vuori, on recognition, because more of your recipients will know the name without being told. Our custom Rhone launch guide has all 65 styles and pricing if you want to see the full range first.
Do other premium brands block distributors the same way?
Some restrict, few exclude outright. Lululemon runs a corporate program but gates it behind an application, a 50-unit minimum, and select industries, which we cover in our custom Lululemon guide. Patagonia allows two placements and reviews every order. Rhoback is unusual in naming promotional distributors as ineligible rather than simply making approval hard.
What if I need Rhoback and three other brands in one order?
That order cannot exist as written. Rhoback has to be bought separately and direct, which means a second vendor, a second invoice, a second timeline, and two sets of boxes arriving on different days. Most buyers who hear that choose a single brand they can get through one vendor. The full list of what we carry is on our brands page.
How far ahead should I order for a December handout?
By mid-November for Rhone, earlier for Vuori. Three weeks of production is about four calendar weeks once artwork and approval are counted, and the last two weeks of December remove working days from the back end. If you are going direct to Rhoback instead, add time for the account application on top of production.
One last thing worth keeping in view. PPAI's consumer research, covering 5,674 end users in the US and Canada, found that 48.7 percent of people keep promotional products for more than five years, and the reason cited far ahead of any other was usefulness rather than the label. Recipients remember a polo that fits and gets worn. Almost none of them will notice that it says Rhone instead of Rhoback, and the ones who would are a short enough list that you can order those twelve direct. For the rest, our client gift guide covers how to split a budget across tiers.
