Want Arc'teryx-level outerwear with your logo?
Patagonia covers the same shells, insulation and fleece at a six-piece minimum, and we can put your logo on any of it.
Arc'teryx does run a group program. Its Group Sales uniform inquiry takes orders at a ten-unit minimum, offers embroidery, heat transfer, velcro and reflective marking, and asks for a four-week lead time on anything decorated. So custom Arc'teryx exists. The question is whether your company fits the program, and the answer sits in one dropdown on the application form.
The industry list on that form reads: Guide, Search and Rescue, Ski Patrol, Avalanche Control, Ski/Snowboard Instructor, Park Ranger/Warden, Climbing Gym, Outdoor Education, Conservation, Adventure Guide, Technical Rope, Fire Fighting. Twelve occupations and an Other. No technology, no financial services, no healthcare, no law, no agency. Arc'teryx built this to put uniforms on people who work outdoors for a living. It is not a corporate gifting program, and the form never pretends to be one.
We do not carry Arc'teryx, and we would rather say so in the first paragraph than halfway down the page. Below is how the program works, who it fits, and the pieces we carry that cover the same ground at a six-piece minimum.
Does Arc'teryx do custom orders?
Yes, through Group Sales rather than the retail store. The terms, as published on the inquiry form:
Ten units minimum. Low for a brand at this price, and the most workable part of the program. A ten-person patrol team is a real customer.
Four decoration methods. Embroidery, heat transfer, velcro and reflective marking. Velcro and reflective tell you who the program was designed around, because neither belongs on a jacket headed to a sales offsite.
Four weeks on anything decorated. The form asks for a required in-hand date and warns that decorated orders need a minimum four-week window. Plan backward from the date you need them, not forward from the day you apply.
An application, not a checkout. You submit organization details, website, industry, country, the products you want, the intended use, approximate quantity, in-hand date and budget. The form also asks whether you are a reseller or the end user.
Retail is the starting point. Arc'teryx publishes its own pricing, and it is the number any group order is measured against. The Atom Vest is $200 and the Atom Jacket $280. A Kyanite fleece jacket is $180. A Beta Jacket is $400 and a Beta AR $650. The Alpha SV reaches $900. None of those figures include a logo.
Can you get custom Arc'teryx through a promotional distributor?
Not through us, and we would check carefully before believing anyone who says otherwise.
Arc'teryx does not publish a blanket ban on promotional distributors the way Rhoback does. What it publishes instead is that occupation list, and the gate is the same in effect. A marketing team ordering eighty jackets for a client event does not map to Ski Patrol or Avalanche Control.
Several promotional distributor sites rank for custom Arc'teryx with pages that carry no Arc'teryx style number, no price and no minimum. Before you believe one, ask for three things in writing: the style number, the per-piece price at your quantity, and the lead time. If those do not come back, the page is a keyword rather than a catalog.
This is normal at the top of the market. Patagonia stopped direct embroidery in 2021 and brought it back in 2023 on two placements only, through limited distribution, as Print & Promo Marketing reported at the time. Lululemon gates its corporate program behind an application and a fifty-unit minimum, which we cover in our custom Lululemon guide. Arc'teryx has drawn its line around occupation rather than channel. The useful question is which brand puts the same jacket on your team through a route that exists.
Who the Arc'teryx group program is right for
Applying direct is the better move for some orders, and we will say so.
Apply if your people work outdoors for a living. A guiding outfit, a ski area, a search and rescue team, a climbing gym, a conservation nonprofit, a fire department. You are the organization this program was written for, and ten units is an easy bar to clear.
Apply if the jacket is equipment rather than a gift. When a shell has to hold up through a season of real weather and the wearer will judge it on performance, the price stops being the main question. Reflective marking and velcro ID panels exist on that form for a reason.
Do not apply if this is a corporate gift or a company-wide run. An office of 200 does not fit any category on the list, and at $280 to $650 a piece before decoration the budget usually settles the question before eligibility does.
Do not apply if the order has to behave like a program. Multiple brands on one invoice, consolidated shipping, held inventory for new hires, per-recipient size and address collection through something like Claim Pages, one vendor your finance team has already onboarded. A brand's own group desk is not built for that.
The best custom Arc'teryx alternatives: Patagonia and The North Face
Arc'teryx sells hardshells, synthetic and down insulation, technical fleece and packs. Two brands we carry cover that range with no occupation test on the door. Custom Patagonia runs 36 styles at a six-piece minimum, including GORE-TEX-class rain shells, Nano Puff and Down Sweater insulation, Better Sweater fleece and the Black Hole pack line. The North Face adds the ThermoBall jacket, which is the closest thing on our catalog to an Atom in both weight and purpose. Each card below shows live pricing at your quantity.
Instead of a Beta or Alpha hardshell
Patagonia Men's Torrentshell 3L Rain Jacket, from $174.46, is the swap that makes the strongest case on price. A Beta Jacket is $400 at Arc'teryx retail and a Beta AR is $650, neither with a logo on it. The Torrentshell is a three-layer waterproof shell with a logo included for well under half of that. If you want the heavier build, the Granite Crest Rain Jacket comes in at $266.77 in men's and women's, and both run a recycled face fabric with a PFAS-free finish.
Instead of an Atom, Cerium or Nuclei
This is the category Arc'teryx is best known for, and the one where the comparison is closest. The Patagonia Men's Nano Puff Vest, from $183.69, sits against an Atom Vest at $200 undecorated. The Micro Puff Hoody at $318.46 and the Women's Micro Puff Jacket at $266.77 answer the Atom Hoody at $300 and the Cerium Hoody at $400. On a vest the gap is small enough that the deciding factor is the route rather than the money, and the route is the part Arc'teryx closes.
Instead of a Covert, Kyanite or Delta fleece
The Better Sweater has its own guide if this is the piece you came for. We cover the full embroidered Better Sweater program, including the vest and quarter-zip bodies and where the logo sits best.
Patagonia Men's Better Sweater Jacket, from $146.77, with the women's body at the same price. Here the swap stops being a compromise. A Kyanite Jacket is $180 at retail and a Covert Pullover Hoody $220, both before a logo, so the Better Sweater lands under either one with embroidery and setup included. The Women's R2 CrossStrata Jacket at $192.92 is the technical option if the fleece has to work as a midlayer rather than an office piece. For a lower entry point, the Micro D Fleece Jacket at $91.38 is the one we put in front of teams ordering a hundred or more.
Instead of a Gamma softshell or an alpine shell
The North Face ThermoBall Jacket in men's and women's is the closest thing we carry to an Atom in weight, packability and intended use, at a twelve-piece minimum. Against a Gamma Jacket at $280 or a Gamma MX Hoody at $400 it holds its ground, and the name carries further with a mixed audience. If the order truly needs an alpine shell, the Patagonia Men's Triolet Jacket at $432.92 is the one piece on our catalog built for that, and it is worth saying plainly that at this tier you are buying equipment rather than merch.
Instead of an Arc'teryx pack
Packs are the easiest category to move, because the Arc'teryx bag line has no single piece with the recognition its jackets carry. The Patagonia Black Hole Pack 25L, from $143.08, is the one we quote most, and the Black Hole MLC 45L at $229.85 is the carry-on version for a travelling team. The Osprey Daylite Backpack at $74.98 clears an eight-piece minimum and is the sensible pick when the pack is going to a conference rather than a trailhead. Our guide to trade show swag covers which bags get carried home and which get left in the hotel room.

Arc'teryx direct vs. ordering Patagonia or The North Face
The comparison on the four things that decide most outerwear orders.
Eligibility. This is the real difference and the rest is detail. Patagonia and The North Face have no occupation test. Arc'teryx asks what industry you are in before it asks anything else, and twelve of the thirteen answers describe outdoor work.
Minimum. Patagonia wins at six pieces per style and color. Arc'teryx asks for ten. The North Face sits at twelve on the ThermoBall and twenty-four on the Ambition quarter-zip, which is worth knowing before you build an order around it.
Timeline. Patagonia runs about ten business days in production from mockup approval. Arc'teryx asks for four weeks on decorated orders, and that window starts after the application is reviewed rather than when you submit it.
What happens after delivery. Through us the same order can ship to one office or to individual doorsteps, and leftover stock can sit in storage and go out to new hires across the following year. A direct brand order arrives in boxes at whoever signed for it, and the reorder starts from the application form again.
How to order Patagonia or The North Face with your logo
1. Pick the pieces. Tell us the headcount, the split between men's and women's and what the weather is doing where these are going, and we will come back with two or three that work together. Or build it yourself in Pack Builder. Six pieces per style and color on Patagonia means a 24-piece order can cover four different bodies.
2. Send your logo and pick a placement. Vector files work best. We will tell you whether the mark holds in thread at the size you want, and on technical shells we will flag where a placement would sit over a seam or a waterproof membrane. Our guide to printing techniques covers which marks survive which method.
3. Approve the mockup. Placement, thread colors and final per-piece pricing all get signed off before anything runs. Artwork setup is included in the quote.
4. Choose how it ships. One address, or Claim Pages so each person picks their own size and enters their own address. On outerwear that choice matters more than on anything else you order, because a jacket in the wrong size does not get worn and does not get mentioned.
Frequently asked questions about custom Arc'teryx
Can I buy Arc'teryx at retail and have it embroidered myself?
You can, and we would steer you away from it. Decorating retail product outside a brand's program means no approval on the co-branded mark, no recourse if a garment is damaged in the hoop, and full retail per piece with no volume break. On a $400 Beta Jacket one ruined run costs more than the whole decoration saved. There is a second problem specific to this brand: a waterproof shell has a taped membrane, and putting a needle through it is how a $400 jacket stops being waterproof.
Does Arc'teryx have a corporate or employee gifting program?
Not as a named program. What exists is Group Sales, and the inquiry form frames it around uniforms for outdoor occupations. There is an Other option in the industry list, so a corporate buyer can submit, but nothing on the page suggests corporate gifting is what the program is staffed to handle. If the order matters and the date is fixed, treat a direct application as a maybe rather than a plan.
What is the closest thing to an Arc'teryx Atom with a company logo?
The North Face ThermoBall Jacket, on construction and use. It is the same idea: synthetic insulation that works wet, packs small and layers under a shell. If you would rather stay with Patagonia across the whole order, the Micro Puff Hoody is the nearer match on weight and the Nano Puff Vest is the nearer match on price. All three take a logo and none of them ask what industry you are in.
Patagonia or The North Face, if I liked Arc'teryx?
Patagonia, on product and on minimum. It is the closer match in technical construction, environmental positioning and the way the brand reads to the kind of person who owns Arc'teryx, and six pieces per style beats twelve. The North Face, if the budget is tighter or the audience is broader, because more recipients know the name without being told. Our custom Patagonia guide has the full range, and the North Face guide covers the jackets, quarter-zips and packs we stock.
Why do promotional companies rank for custom Arc'teryx if they cannot sell it?
Because a brand name with search volume is worth a page whether or not the catalog behind it exists. Those pages tend to share three tells: no style numbers, no prices, and no minimum. A distributor that can quote a brand will name the piece and the price at your quantity in the first reply. One that cannot will ask you to call. That test takes a single email and saves a week.
How far ahead should I order winter outerwear?
For a December handout, start by mid-November for Patagonia. Ten business days of production is about three calendar weeks once artwork and approval are counted, and the last two weeks of December take working days out of the back end. Going direct to Arc'teryx instead, add the application review on top of its four-week decorated window. Our Q4 planning guide has the full calendar.
One thing worth keeping in view when the per-piece number looks high. ASI's 2026 Ad Impressions Study puts outerwear at roughly 9,000 impressions over its lifespan, which holds the cost per impression under half a cent even on a $300 jacket. PPAI's consumer research, covering 5,674 end users across the US and Canada, found that 48.7 percent of people keep promotional products for more than five years, and the reason cited ahead of every other was usefulness rather than the label on it. A jacket that fits and gets worn outperforms one that stayed in a box because the brand was unreachable. For how outerwear sits inside a wider budget, our client gift guide splits spend across tiers.
Noah Jolly runs Merchwell, which builds custom merch programs for companies from forty-person startups to Affirm, Capital One, and PepsiCo. If the outerwear is going to people on their first day, start with our guide to new hire welcome kits instead. The rest of the brands we carry sit alongside Patagonia on one quote.
